Christian Coloring and Crafts

This morning I received an email from Jan Brokelman, the owner of a Dutch (if I am not mistaken!) Web site. He wrote:

"On my website are a large number of Christian coloring and crafts.

The start page is: http://www.gkvapeldoornzuid.nl/index.php/speciaal/kleurplaten

I have made 4 categories:

the old testament: http://www.gkvapeldoornzuid.nl/index.php/oude-testament

the new testament: http://www.gkvapeldoornzuid.nl/index.php/nieuwe-testament

Christmas: http://www.gkvapeldoornzuid.nl/index.php/kerst

Easter and Pentecost: http://www.gkvapeldoornzuid.nl/index.php/pasen-en-pinksteren"

The Web site is in Dutch, but there is an option available on the site to see an English translation of the site (this is an automated translation and therefore rough at times, but good enough to make out the meaning). The drawings of the coloring pages are of exceptionally high quality and the crafts quite good.

The video below on the making of communion wafers is quite interesting. It was recently posted on a number of blogs (I got it from The Deacons' Bench) but it is worth repeating here!

Art & Bible

This Web site offers two sections with images of art on biblical themes, one for the The First or Old Testament and one on Jesus-Christ and the New Testament. Both of these provide access to art work that you can locate by book and verses or by themes. This is an incredibly large and useful collection of art images on the bible.

Confession Explained

http://adventus.org/en/confession-explained/
This page contains links to a talk given by Father Thomas Dowd on the sacrament of Reconciliation, otherwise known as “confession”. The purpose of this talk was to help parents answer questions their kids might have about the sacrament. The talk was recorded and broken down into separate audio files, creating “tracks” that are ready to be burned to a CD.

Irena Sendler: a Catholic Hero

Irena Sendler was a Polish Catholic social worker. During World War II, she saved 2,500 Jewish children by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto, providing false documents and sheltering them in individual or group children's homes outside the ghetto.
