Eastern Catholic Churches

As part of a course on Church history with senior high students, I used to have a unit on Eastern Catholic Churches. There are a number of resources available online on this topic. I have gathered some of these on my Web site under the following headings:

Magnatune.com has a number of CDs from different choirs that are from the Russian Orthodox and Ukrainian Orthodox traditions, but that could be used as part of such a unit. See, for example, the beautiful recording by the Kyiv Chamber Choir - Liturgy of Peace.

Coloring pages

I did a little digging on Spanish Web sites for coloring pages that could be useful for catechists and found a few useful resources:

Dibujos Cristianismo para colorear e imprimir - This small collection of drawings (some in color and others in black and white) contains drawings of Pope Benedict XVI, of priests, of churches, of the host and ciborium...

Imagenes de Dibujos religiosos - This page offers nice drawings to print and color of David and Goliath, the Nativity Scene, Mary holding baby Jesus, the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, John at the foot of the cross, the good shepherd, Pentecost...

Dibujos religiosos - Coloring pages of Noah and the Ark, Jonah and the whale, baby Moses in a basket on the Nile, David playing the harp...

The Art of Graham Kennedy

Sermons4kids.com has a page on the art of Graham Kennedy. It offers a selection of excellent drawings from this artist. The latter are based on Bible stories: Water into Wine; Woman at the Well; The Crucificion; Feeding 5000; The Pearl of Great Price; Jesus Calms the Storm; and several others - there are 22 drawings in all. Some of them are in color. The black and white drawings can be used as coloring pages. Restriction on use: "Images are provided for use in your church or church-related ministry only".
