Nature Wallpapers & Nature Pictures

Edenpics is a Web resources that offers 144 nature wallpapers / pictures. These are available in various sizes to fit your screen resolution. They are free to download and print under certain conditions. Many of them include a scripture verse. They therefore make very nice scripture verses posters.

The image on the left is the one I have chosen to place as a wallpaper on my computer screen. Click on it to see a larger version. It contains a verse from the second reading for Mass tomorrow.

Coloring Pages - Saints

Waltzing Matilda is the blog of a Roman Catholic homeschooling mom. One of the features on her blog are coloring pages (mostly) of Saints. She has drawn these herself and they are well done indeed! Note that to download the over 50 drawings she has created thus far you will have to register on a site called Scribd, but registration is free and quickly and painlessly done and worth the effort to access these coloring pages.

The newest edition of the Catholic Faith Education Newsletter - the August 24th edition - is now available online at http://www.silk.net/RelEd/ezine1.htm .

I have expanded the Resources on the Sunday Readings section, giving you access to an extensive array of background articles and commentaries, homilies, children's stories, art, clipart, videos and other resources on the Mass readings for upcoming Sundays in September. As usual, you will find new calendar pages (for September and October), Word of Wisdom posters, printable scripture cards, and a extensive listing of religious education related articles available online.

Clipart ETC: Architecture

The Architecture section on the Clipart ETC Web site offers over 1200 illustrations of architecture of various locations and time periods, including Byzantine, Egyptian, Greek, Renaissance, and Roman. Also available is a miscellaneous architecture gallery, and a visual dictionary, which shows the name and definition of various structural and artistic parts of architecture. Many of the line drawings in this collection can be useful when talking about church architecture and a maximum of fifty (50) clipart items may be used in any non-commercial, educational project (report, presentation, display, website, etc.) without special permission.

Journey - Catholic Bible Study Program

JOURNEY is a Catholic Bible Study Program, written by Archbishop Marcel Gervais and other Biblical scholars and used by parishes and individuals throughout the world for over twenty-five years now. Journey is a Bible study program that takes you through all the books of the Bible step by step.

Lessons 1-20 take you through the Old Testament, starting with Genesis and moving through the historical books, the prophets and finally, the wisdom literature.

Lessons 21-40 take you through the New Testament and discuss the Gospel of Mark, Luke, Matthew and John. These lessons are followed by four lessons on the writings of Paul, the later letters and conclude with the Book of Revelation. These lessons have been translated into many languages and have been distributed to almost every country of the world.

You need to register to access the courses, but registration is free.
