Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

The Web site Faithful Citizenship, a production of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, aims at providing resources and information to help develop political responsibility at all levels of society. It contains a large assortment of material under the following headings: All Catholics; Parish and School Leaders; Diocesan and Community Leaders; and Young Catholics.

Of particular interest to teachers and catechists is a section called “Ideas for Religious Educators” that provides some suggestions for activities with children, youth and adults as well as information on pertinent publications of the USCC.

americancatholic.org has also produced a handy Catholic Update printable pamphlet summarizing the U.S. bishops' statement to Catholics about forming their faith properly before making political decisions.
