Online Magazine Cover and Newspaper Clipping Generators

There are dozens of online applications that allow you to do anything from brochures, to worksheets, to PowerPoint presentations. I recently came across two of these that are very easy to use and, with a bit of creativity, can produce interesting resources. These two applications are, in fact, so straightforward to handle that your students, even elementary age students, could use them. It is a good way of taking advantage of their fascination with the world of computers while at the same time helping them learn about their faith.

Magazine Cover Maker: The first of these application allows you to created your own magazine cover by selecting the image, the magazine title, the font color, captions, the date of publication, the cost, etc. The end product is a graphic of the magazine cover you created that you can save on your computer and use as you please. The image on the right is one that I created as an example of what this application can produce. Click on it to see it full size.

The Newspaper Clipping Generator: This application is very easy to use. Just enter the newspaper title, the date, and the text of the article and click on a button. Voilà! Instant newspaper clipping ready to download. The image on the left is the result of my attempt at using this application. Click on it to see the full size version.
