The Wonders of the Universe

UNAWE is an international outreach programme that uses the beauty and scale of the universe to inspire very young children in underprivileged environments.

The goals of this organsisation are to:

• broaden children's minds,
• awaken their curiosity in science,
• stimulate global citizenship and tolerance.

These are not specifically religious goals, but awakening the minds of children to the wonders of the universe goes hand in hand with opening their minds and hearts to the God who is the creator of all of these wonders. The UNAWE Web sites (http://www.unawe.org/) offers resources and lesson plans that can be easily adapted to a religious education context.
