The aim of the following photo essay is threefold: (1) To offer a pictorial glimpse of the land where God chose to reveal himself in a very special way to his people; (2) to encourage all to pray for true peace and reconciliation among all Christians, Jews, and Muslims; and (3) to encourage all who have the means to go on pilgrimage to this beautiful and Holy Land.

Israel Yesterday & Today - Don Schwager who designed this Web site and was the photographer who took the hundreds of excellent photos it contains aptly calls his site a pilgrimage in word & image. Mr. Schwager writes in his introduction to the site:
